It was published in 1961 and is about Sammy’s change of character and coming of age. Updike uses the various shifts in tone, great attention to detail, and a great deal of symbolism to portray the significant change. The opening sentence â€Å" In walks three girls in nothing but bathing suits† (par.1) sets up the colloquial tone; it’s as if Sammy was talking to a friend. As the story goes on, the tone shifts from being informal to a little comical. First of all, the earth can only have one way of incoming heat energy, which is radiant energy. When the solar energy reaches the earth surface and the atmosphere, some of them are absorbed by the earth atmosphere system, while some energy is reflected or scattered back to space. The energy absorbed is the income of heat to make the earth warm. The heat is absorbed by the earth and atmosphere through many ways, such as direct solar energy absorption to the earth surface, atmosphere and clouds, latent heat transfer, sensible heat transfer and net gain from surface which is the gain from surface radiation minus the loss by counterradiation. After the energy is absorbed by the earth-atmosphere system, the energy is lost back to space from the earth also by many ways like long-wave terrestrial radiation, latent heat transfer and conduction and convection. More amount of cloud cover will result in larger reflection of radiation and larger absorption of radiation by the cloud, so the amount of radiation reaching the earth will be smaller, or vice versa. These kinds of process help losing heat to the space, so the earth won’t become warmer and lose its balance. And for horizontal transfer of heat to be carried out, it is because the amount of radiation received by the earth varies greatly along latitudes and between seasons. The water vapour carries energy in the form of latent heat. When the water vapour condenses, this energy is released as heat and warms the surrounding atmosphere. Building an Ethical Organization Essay The name of my organization is Focus Mental Health and Developmental Agency Focus is an agency that provides help and compassion to people that are going through a mental health issue whether it is needing counseling, support, or medication treatment Focus is your path to peace of mind.  Substance abuse is another issue that we address from helping to get assistance to go into inpatient treatment facility, or outpatient treatment, as well as Aftercare which is a support program for clients being fresh out of drug or alcohol treatment or stopping using on their own. Recovery program that can be provided through Focus for continued success at a productive life for clients. Recovery is a life altering event because the client will be drug or alcohol free for a certain amount of time but will constantly be on a mission to stay free from these addictions. We have case managers who do home visits as well as office visits to stay on top of our clients’ needs before they become a crisis. We promote medication therapy which assists clients in staying on a strict medication regiment for mental health and some substance abuse treatments as well when necessary. Inspector Goole in An Inspector Calls by J.B. Priestley I will be answering the question "What is the importance of the inspector in J. B Preisley's 'An Inspector Calls'". I think the Inspector is the characters guilty conscience. To prove this I will go through every character and comment on how they react to the Inspector and I shall also comment on how the Inspector reacts to the Birlings and Gerald. Inspector Goole makes his entrance in the middle of the Birlings celebration, they are celebrating the engagement of Sheila (their daughter) to Gerald Croft son of sir George Croft of Crofts Limited. At the time the Inspector enters Mrs. Birling and Sheila have left the room so Mr. Birling, Gerald and Eric (his son) are left in the room. Mr. Birling is in the middle of a speech to Eric and Gerald: "a man has to make his own way-has to look after himself-and his family to". He is cut off when the maid Edna tells Mr. Birling that an Inspector is here to see him this might be a secret message by J.B Priestly (the writer of the play) saying that life shouldn't be like people shouldn't just look after their family and friends they should be caring to other people and during the evening the characters learn that lesson because if they had treated Eva Smith well she wouldn't have died. The Inspector first questions Mr. Birling, a proud man who is very old fashioned. The Inspector came down on them straight away saying: "a young girl has just committed suicide by drinking some disinfectant" . Mr. Birling doesn't take him seriously telling the Inspector that it is nothing to do with him even when the Inspector tells him that Eva Smith use to work for him. Mr. Birling still doesn't feel any remorse. The Inspector shows Birling a photograph of Eva Smith and, Birling can remember her now, then Gerald and Eric ask to see the photograph of the girl but in a quiet but firm tone the Inspector replies

In the face of modern terror, the Magna Carta is irrelevant One of the greatest legacies of Magna Carta is that no one is above the law. In forcing King John to sign the document, the barons wanted to limit his arbitrary rule. Clause 39 states that â€Å"No freemen shall be taken or imprisoned or disseised [dispossessed] or exiled or in any way destroyed, nor will we go upon him nor send upon him, except by the lawful judgment of his peers or by the law of the land. To no one will we sell, to no one will we refuse or delay, right or justice.† (Carpenter, 2 January 2015). This clause established the idea of the rule of law, due process, right to a fair trial, and trial by jury. All personal liberties enjoyed in democracies are legacies of the Magna Carta. The power of government has been limited as no one is above the law including the government. If government officials wanted to seize a property of an ordinary citizen, or carry out a search, a court warrant would be required. This requirement is important because if the government acted without regard to the law, the lives of ordinary people would be in peril. Corrupt government officials would routinely detain people on the slightest suspicion and even seize their property for no justifiable reason.
